Sanyo Gallenkamp was formed in October 1990 when Sanyo purchased Gallenkamp and its related manufacturing businesses.
Employing approximately 180 people in the UK with additional personnel in both the Netherlands and the USA, Sanyo Gallenkamp
incorporates the world renowned brand names of Sanyo, Gallenkamp, MSE, Fistreem and Fitotron. Although young in
organisational terms, the company is founded on an immense amount of experience. Gallenkamp started to manufacture Laboratory
Equipment more than 100 years ago and MSE was one of the first Centrifuge manufacturers and UK market leader for more than 40
years. Fistreem has been the world’s leading brand of glass Water Distillation products since the early 1970’s and Fitotron
the UK’s acknowledged technological leader in Plant Growth facilities. Sanyo needs little introduction as one of the world’s
foremost electronics manufacturing companies with its own range of Biomedical Laboratory products, in particular world
leading technology in Ultra-Low Temperature Refrigeration. Sanyo corporately links its activities to two fundamental business
objectives: ‘creating more comfortable living environments’ and ‘enriching people’s lives’. Sanyo is currently achieving
these objectives through its support of multimedia and clean energy. In the UK, Sanyo is perhaps better known for its
consumer market products, most notably, digital cameras, microwave ovens and TV’s. Sanyo Gallenkamp is currently focused on
seven major product areas- Ultra Low Refrigeration, Laboratory Temperature Control (Incubators, Ovens and Autoclaves),
Centrifuges, Climatic Test Chambers and Rooms, Plant Growth Chambers and Rooms, Pharmaceutical Stability Testing and Water
Purification. Other products include a range of speciality instruments such as Ultrasonic Disintegrators, Analysers for
automatic flashpoint, melting point and calorific value determination and Thermal Cyclers for PCR.
